During a special three-day event at the Heron Glen Golf Course in Ringoes, N.J., 17 hunters with disabilities harvested nine deer. Because the public golf course is overpopulated with deer, Hunterdon County scheduled a special hunt while the course was closed last January. The New York Times spotlighted the hunt and the work Wheelin' Sportsmen chapters do to provide people with disabilities the opportunity to hunt, shoot and fish. READ MORE . . . With everything from hunting and fishing tactics to camping and recreational shooting, Wheelin’ Sportsmen is delivering, and in some cases reintroducing, the beauty and excitement of the outdoors to thousands of people with disabilities. Wheelin’ Sportsmen is the quarterly magazine of the NWTF’s Wheelin’ Sportsmen program.
